​July 22, 2023, marked a day of pure joy and celebration as DJ XTC Entertainment had the honour of being a part of Jeff and Stacey's beautiful wedding at Millcroft Golf Club in Burlington. It was our first time at this stunning venue, and we were greeted by the most amazing staff, making it a pleasure to work together.

The day started with an enchanting outdoor ceremony, where the romantic ambiance was set by the talented classical guitarist, Derek Macrae. The ceremony was officiated by the wonderful Beth from All Life's Milestones Wedding Ceremonies, adding a heartfelt touch to the special moment when Jeff and Stacey said their vows.

As the sun began to set, the guests moved inside for the cocktail hour, serenaded once again by Derek's mesmerizing melodies. The atmosphere was filled with love and excitement, and everyone eagerly awaited the grand reception.

The master of ceremonies, Jason, took the stage and with his lively spirit, introduced the newlyweds to the cheers and applause of their loved ones. It was a moment of pure happiness and anticipation for the celebration that was about to unfold.

1. Tying The Knot
"Tying the Knot" was known as “handfasting”, an ancient Celtic wedding tradition where the couple would tie their hands together using knots of cloth.

2.Wedding Bells
Wedding bells are another ancient Celtic tradition, this time as a symbol of abundance and prosperity. The bell ringing was also supposed to ward off evil spirits.

3.Decorating The Car
The tradition of decorating a couple’s “getaway car” seems to originate in France, where tying cans to the bumper is believed to be a French word (“charivari”) which means hullabaloo or commotion. 

4.Love Letters
One Icelandic tradition is for the couple to write letters expressing their love for each other the night before the ceremony. Sometimes the officiant and even the couple’s parents also write letters. These would then be sealed in a box to be opened on the couple’s first anniversary.

The lovely ceremony took place at Parkway Bible Church, a sacred space that provided the perfect backdrop for Garnett and Crystal's union. Presided over by Pastor Heskias, the ceremony was filled with heartfelt vows, prayers, and blessings. The couple's home church's elders were also present, showering them with love, support, and their heartfelt blessings.

Following the ceremony, the celebration continued at the magnificent St. Clement Of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, where the reception took place. With DJ Neal at the helm as both MC and DJ, the atmosphere was electric with gospel and Christian tunes that resonated deeply with Garnett and Crystal's faith. The music embraced the rich cultural backgrounds of both families, creating a harmonious blend of melodies and rhythms that had everyone on their feet, dancing and rejoicing.

As the night progressed, DJ Neal ensured that the crowd was engaged and entertained with interactive games and activities, fostering an atmosphere of joy and celebration. From soulful gospel performances to energetic dance numbers, every moment was filled with the spirit of unity and the guiding light of their faith.

The reception culminated in a magical sparkler send-off, symbolising the couple's transition into their new journey as husband and wife. With the guiding light of their faith in the Lord, Garnett and Crystal strolled through a pathway illuminated by sparklers, surrounded by the love and well wishes of their family and friends. It was a breathtaking moment that marked the beginning of their lifelong commitment to each other.
