Of all the Mississauga wedding DJs Mark & Jessica chose us to DJ their unique Micro Wedding at Le Treport Banquet Hall in Mississauga. Due to restrictions Mark & Jessica chose to focus the day on their ceremony and nuptials exclusively. There were a few important family members that couldn't be in attendance. Zoom was used to give friends and family at home the opportunity to still be included in the special day. Le Treport provided their lovely chapel which was the elegant backdrop to the ceremony. The officiant Robb McDonald kept the intimate ceremony light, fun and personable. The one thing that made this wedding so memorable was the roses dedication that Mark & Jessica did for their grandmothers.

My Mission was to blend East & West Indian music during this celebration at Piper's Heath in Milton. 

One of the big highlights of the night was the performance of Mississauga Tassa Kings.
​That coupled with an injection of Bhangra, Chutney, Calypso & Soca helped to mesh the whole night together. ​

​Add in the dinner music from Twin Peaks as well as Corvus Corax during the arm wrestling competition ( yes, you read that right) catapults this as one of the most unique nights that I have had the pleasure of being a part of.

Regardless of tradition, you don’t have to have children at your wedding. We all love those little bundles of energy but a wedding isn’t always the best place for kids.  You don’t have to feel guilty when considering an adult only reception. This, like many of your wedding day decisions should be made while shelving emotions.  The decision should be made with the best outcome of the day for you and your partner in mind.
 
If you decide that there will be no children at your wedding under a certain age then stick to it. This includes all guests, friends and yes, even your own children. Of course you can make any exceptions that you choose but you should take into account that there may be some confused or even hurt feelings in the room.
 
Allowing children at a ceremony but not the reception will probably cause undue issues for parents.
Finding transportation or childcare for part of the day or having to leave half way through the day is a lot to ask of your guests. It would be much better to make the decision for the whole day.
 
Put the names of your guest on the invitation. That should alleviate confusion. A note could also be added similar to 
“Due to space and budget constrictions we can not accommodate guests under 19 years of age”
 
Be clear with direct family and your wedding party. Many times guests will go to them instead of asking you or your partner if they can bring their kids.  The last thing you want is a call from your sister saying,
“I told your aunt Mary that it was ok to bring her three toddlers…”
 
Be prepared that some guests won’t understand the “adults only” concept. Even though you have been clear about it, you are sure to get a few calls with questions. You more than likely have some people who think that it won’t apply to them and their kids.  This is where you need to be firm and reiterate that you are having an adult’s only wedding, you aren’t making exceptions and you hope they are still going to celebrate your wedding day with you.
 
A great gesture might be to provide babysitting either through your venue or other vendor contacts.
Parents will appreciate you taking that step to ensure that they are still part of your big day.
 
By having an adult’s only wedding you do open up to having a few extra guests decline. Don’t take it personally and don’t let it ruin your day. A wedding can be a fantastic time without having to worry about children screaming, crying or needing to be entertained.  Focus on the people that will be there with you rather than those that won't.

​Traditionally weddings were exclusively held in religious venues like churches. Now couples aren’t “married’ to that idea. There are tons of weddings that are held outside, in courtrooms or even in someone’s home. These areas give a unique look that shows off a couple’s personality and style as well as giving guests a fun time to remember.
 
The images of an outdoor wedding can be fantastic. Weather is never a guarantee so couples planning to have an outdoor wedding should have a backup venue just in case. Clear directions need to be given on the invitation to guide guests to the ceremony. It could be a little confusing since the venue isn’t as easy to find as a church. There should also be information on where the ceremony will be held in the instance that the ceremony needs to be moved indoors due to weather.
 
An outdoor ceremony should take place in an area where there is plenty of shade. The wedding party will be standing up for the length of the ceremony and heat will be an issue. Too much heat may also be an issue to any older guests as well as children attending. Remember also that you will have to arrange for seating and a sound system, so a dry run will be important to determine needs as far as electrical power and seat placement.
 
Large houses can be an ideal place for a non-traditional wedding ceremony, as long as there is enough space. Courtroom weddings are rarely affairs in which a large number of guests will take part, but you will want to ensure that there is available seating for those who do wish to attend.
 
Location weddings are a unique and memorable way to set your wedding day apart. They can also be a very special occasion since usually couples are not be able to spend that much time with the friends and family who attend their wedding. A location wedding allows for the entire party to be together over a period of several days, with lots of time to visit. Remember that you may have to make an additional trip to have final approval over the ceremony venue.

So, you decided to take the most anticipated walk down the aisle and you have chosen the Fall as the perfect accent.  Fall weddings are very romantic because the season represents a beautiful transition much like the transition you are about to encounter.   The best way to accent the wedding with the season is to choose from an array of fall wedding favours that are ideal for both sexes.

Most seem to think that the wedding is all about one partner .  Actually, it isn’t especially when it comes to choosing the right wedding favour for your guests.  This is a time for both partners to come together as one to make practical decisions.  The pair of you has already decided on the season of the wedding, now its time to work together in honour of your guests.  Lets try this out for size when you think of fall, what comes to mind when the beautiful changing leaves, the cool atmosphere, maybe even cider and doughnuts.  Rest assured, your thoughts were possibly calming to say the least.   This could be reflective in your theme and decor.  This is a good way to narrow down on what to choose for a good fall wedding favour.

The best gift for both sexes is a gift that both can use.  For a fall theme, golden wine bottle stoppers with carved leaf tips are an awesome idea.  Coasters detailed with fall leaves and even photo albums with pressed leaves are great ideas and are great additions to the table decor.  Make an array of this festive event by adding to the table setting place card holders that hold the card in a leaf, a ceramic turkey place card holder or even pumpkin place card holders for that harvest touch.  If your looking for something more edible, maple cookies or honey dried in the shape of a maple leaf makes a great ensemble for guests.

For do it yourself projects, try candy corn placed in a silver mint tin with a clear top.  Get a bit fancier and tie a personalized ribbon around the mint tin in a festive autumn colour to add more spice to the table.  Speaking of spices, this is a great idea for fall wedding favours. Another idea is to place fall theme kisses in chocolate coloured favour boxes or add chocolate shaped leaves to pumpkin centrepieces and place in the centre of the table for the guests to enjoy. A cellophane bag of harvest shaped cookies tied with multicolour ribbon works well with kids.  These ideas are all fun and great for both sexes to enjoy.
