​The Master of Ceremonies (MC) is responsible for keeping the wedding day running smoothly and keeping everyone on track. As the MC, you will need to be organized and confident in your ability to handle any situation that may arise.
​
So, here are some tips to ensure the wedding day goes off without a hitch.
Of course, these are just tips because the duties of an MC entail far more than this!

• ​Before the Wedding Day 

Prior to the wedding day , meet with the couple to go over the order of events. This will help you be prepared for what will happen and when.
​
Make sure you list all the people participating in the ceremony and their roles. Then, you can cue them when it is their time to speak or do something.

• During the Day

During the day, it is your job to keep things moving. Please ensure everyone is where they are supposed to be and cue them when it is their time to speak or do something.

Be prepared to make announcements such as introducing the newlyweds at the Grand Entrance, announcing special dances, or calling guests to dinner. If there is any other particular information that needs to be conveyed to the guests, the MC will be responsible for sharing it.

Also, if any issue comes up during the day, it is your job to handle it. For example, fixing a microphone that isn’t working.

• End of the Reception 

Always remember that your goal as the MC is to keep the wedding ceremony and reception running smoothly. With your help, the wedding couple can relax and enjoy their big day. At the end of the ceremony, thank everyone for coming and announce the start of the reception!
